Our Mechanical & Electromechanical Assembly Department: The Flexibility and Leadership for Complex Builds

At All Metals Fabricating, our core services are metal fabrication and precision machining, but we do much more than that in our efforts to be your one-stop shop. One additional service we provide is in-house assembly and hardware support.

By allowing us to handle assembly in addition to fabrication, you can reduce handoffs and simplify your project’s logistics. You’ll receive ready-to-install subassemblies, not just individual parts.

In-House Mechanical and Electromechanical Assembly

Our assembly team supports both mechanical and electromechanical assembly. We typically assemble parts we fabricate and machine in-house, but we can also integrate parts or subassemblies you provide, as well as purchased components. Whether the job requires straightforward hardware or is a complex build with electrical components, we’re ready to tackle it.

Our electromechanical assembly services include a wide range of offerings, from box build assembly to panel assembly and beyond. We also offer one-stop shop services for bus bar manufacturing and EMA

Installation and Procurement Support

Our team installs a wide range of hardware, including standoffs, threaded inserts, nuts, rivets, and a variety of specialty fasteners. If you need help selecting or sourcing hardware, we can assist you. We’ll work with you to identify practical options that meet your priorities, and we can suggest hardware DFM tips to make your project more cost-effective, as well.

UL 508A and UL 891 Certifications for Compliance-Driven Builds

All Metals Fabricating is certified to UL 508A and UL 891. For projects where recognized electrical standards are critical, these certifications ensure you meet requirements. If your team has UL-related needs, we can align early on your needs.

A Dedicated Team With Experienced Leadership

Our assembly department has six dedicated team members who spend their days shifting between varied builds and requirements. That adaptability is a major strength of the department, according to Hardware and Assembly Lead Alma Arredondo.

“Every day is different in our department,” Alma said. “Every build has different details and different requirements. Our team is always focused on following the print, verifying the right parts and fasteners, and building it correctly every time.”

Alma has been with All Metals Fabricating for nearly 26 years now. She started in the hardware department as her first job in manufacturing, and she quickly gained a reputation as a fast learner and a reliable team member. Today, she oversees the assembly and hardware operations and also leads our metal finishing team at sibling company All Powder Coat and Screen.

Empowering Others Every Day

Alma’s approach to leadership reflects the servant leadership mindset we emphasize across the company. She supports her team however she can while making sure they have the resources to succeed on their own. She not only spends her days assisting everyone in her department, but she is also constantly seeking out their thoughts and working with them on continuous improvement.

“Every day I try to learn something new and improve with my team. When we have a new assembly, I’m always asking everyone ‘How can we do this better? What are your ideas?’ I give them my ideas, they give me their suggestions, and we work as a team to improve.”

As a leader, she most enjoys watching her team develop. One recent example is team member Marianne, who joined a year ago and has progressed quickly. “She can already run a large, complex project on her own,” said Alma. “I can just give her the work order and trust her. She’s done so well, and I’m proud of her growth.”

Decades of Professionalism from a True Team Player

All Metals Fabricating CEO Lance Thrailkill has consistently been impressed during Alma’s long career at All Metals Fabricating. He recently helped her celebrate her 25-year milestone with a bonus and a gift of a vacation to a destination of her choice.

“I’m so grateful for the positive attitude and professionalism Alma brings to our shop every day,” Lance said. “She not only leads our assembly department, she has stepped up to help at All Powder Coat and Screen when the shop needed a steady hand. She’s a true team player, and we’re so thankful for her dedication!”

One-Stop Collaboration That Keeps Work Moving

Every part that enters the assembly department has passed through multiple others, whether that’s fabrication, machining, finishing, or any other area of our shop. That makes cross-department coordination essential, or else missed details will lead to problems.

Our teams communicate extensively to keep builds moving and prevent issues. That transparency and collaboration allow us to simplify your project and act as an efficient one-stop shop.

“I need to know where parts are coming from and where they’re going next,” Alma said. “So all the leads are talking to each other every day, helping each other out. We all work together.”
